Are all of your supplements natural?Updated a year ago

To the extent possible, we use natural, fresh whole foods that are the most digestible by dogs and cats and add human grade vitamin and mineral supplements only where needed to meet the desired nutrient profiles.  All supplements are highest pharmaceutical quality FCC (human) grade and USA sourced.  We trace every supplement back to its original source and never use any imported or feed grade vitamin or mineral packs.

All vitamins are derived from natural sources.  Studies show the absorption and bioavailability of certain minerals to be significantly higher when compounded or chelated (compared to other sources such as clay, etc.) so our mineral supplements may be chelated or compounded to be more easily digested and absorbed.

Calcium Carbonate and Tricalcium Phosphate:  Highly absorbable source of pure calcium and phosphorus, certified human grade, kosher, free of fluoride, lead, and other potentially toxic substances.  While calcium is naturally present in most whole food, calcium and phosphorous must be supplemented to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles.  Ground bones and bone meals contain calcium and phosphorus, but may also contain high levels of fluoride, lead, or other minerals stored in bone.  Cooked ground bones are more difficult for dogs to digest and can be abrasive in the dog’s digestive tract, and because our proteins are gently but fully cooked we add an easily digested supplement.

Choline Chloride: Choline is bound to chloride for easier digestibility and absorption.  Our primary sources of choline include eggs, beef, chicken, turkey, and liver.  When necessary for a particular blend, we add trace amounts of Choline Chloride to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles.

Coconut Oil: Organic cold pressed 100% pure coconut oil.

Copper Gluconate:  Trace mineral copper compounded for better absorption.  Primary food sources include heart, beef, turkey, chicken, liver, whole baked potato, and whole grain brown rice.  When necessary for a particular blend, we add trace amounts of Copper to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles.

Ferrous Sulfate:  Highly absorbable iron supplement, gentle on the digestive tract.  Primary food sources include chicken, turkey, beef, liver, whole baked potato, and whole grain brown rice.  When necessary for a particular blend, we add trace amounts of Ferrous Sulfate to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles.

Fish Oil:  Organic Fish Oil derived from anchovy (Engraulis ringens), a deep sea-harvested small planktivorous pelagic fish, is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid).  Our fish oil is in its natural triglyceride form and is preservative-free.

Kelp:  Organic dried Norwegian kelp harvested in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine, rich in iodine and various macro and micronutrients.

Manganese:  Naturally occurring in organ meats, vegetables, and whole grains, supplemental Manganese may be added to some blends to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles.

Safflower Oil:  Organic Safflower Oil is derived from the natural safflower plant and is rich in essential fatty acids, especially linoleic acid.

Salt (Sodium Chloride):  Sodium is naturally present in most whole foods, but additional salt must be added to most blends to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles. Salt is never added as a preservative or for any purpose other than to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for Sodium and Chloride.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin):  Naturally present in meats, vegetables, and whole grains, we may have to add a natural vitamin B2 supplement to some blends to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles.

Vitamin B12:  Naturally present in muscle and organ meats, we may have to add a natural vitamin B12 supplement to some blends to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles.

Vitamin D:  D3 as Cholicalciferol, a natural source of vitamin D.

Vitamin E:  D-alpha tocopherol, a natural source of vitamin E.  Food sources include Safflower Oil, Fish Oil, and Fresh Vegetables.

Zinc Sulfate:  Trace mineral zinc compounded for better absorption.  Primary sources include chicken, turkey, beef, whole egg, liver, whole baked potato, and whole grain brown rice.  When necessary for a particular blend, we add trace amounts of Zinc to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles.
