Do you use bones for calcium?Updated a year ago
No - cooked ground bones are more difficult for pets to digest and can be abrasive to the digestive tract, and because our proteins are gently but fully cooked, we add an easily digested supplement.
While calcium is naturally present in most whole food, calcium and phosphorous must be supplemented to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles. Ground bones and bone meals contain calcium and phosphorus, but may also contain high levels of fluoride, lead, or other minerals stored in bone. We incorporate a highly absorbable source of pure calcium and phosphorus, that is certified human grade, kosher, and free of fluoride, lead, and other potentially toxic substances.
